Last night was the closest we’ve come to interrupting Penelope’s sleep. I checked the monitor to find this
and all I could think was she was going to tweak that arm the wrong way and we’d would be awakened to loud uncontrollable screams. Didn’t happen. I can’t understand the fascination with sticking her limbs through her crib. She did the same thing in China.

The visit with Heather, our social worker, went well. We recapped how things have been going with Penelope including height, weight, and head circumference. It was nearly identical to many other conversations we’ve had, only this once was documented and will be sent to China (along with several photos). Next visit in November. Heather will most likely be coming back to a whole ‘nother deal at that point!
Jennifer got out the sun glasses Stephanie bought for Penelope. She had a great time putting them on and showing them off last night. We loved every moment of it as you can tell here.
Once again, a major thank you to Aunt Stephanie!
On the way back from visiting Sweetwater Creek Park today we gave them to her again. I couldn’t help but laugh as she was sitting there like Miss Big Stuff. She looks like a baby aviator strapped into an a plush cockpit (parked in front of the library). Oh yeah…
This weekend her Grandma Petrie (did my mom just shudder when I typed that?) may be visiting, along with one of Penelope’s two Great-Grandparents, my mother’s father. Looking forward to a good week now that I’m feeling better. Just need to get the rest of this phlegm out and I’ll be on top of the world.
