Stephanie and Charlie were gracious enough to invite us to his Gotcha Day trip to Serenbe on Monday. For those not familiar with Serenbe please visit their web site. We only saw a portion of the community. Horses, cows, donkeys, nature trails, serene architecture, and a terrific deli (The Blue Eyed Daisy). Jenn and I hope to return and experience more of the community. Moving there wouldn’t be bad either.
The One With the Car
A year of research, sleepless nights, and futile trips to car dealerships are over. We have the family vehicle we wanted from day 1; a Prius.
Weekend Update – August 19th, 2012
Penelope. Just say the name. It’s magical. Familiar, yet with a hint of obscurity.
I looked up her name on Wikipedia and found this quote amusing: “the Penelope Painter is recognized by his representations of her—to Roman sculpture copying or improvising upon classical Greek models, by her seated pose, by her reflective gesture of leaning her cheek on her hand…” Like the gesture she made on Gotcha Day maybe?
Car Talk
Before we left for China Jenn and I had discussed purchasing a new vehicle. Our top pick is too expensive (Prius). Right now we have the Corolla with 186000 miles and the Tacoma with 190000. I’d love to keep the Tacoma, however it’s impractical for families. Two cars, not a car and a truck, will work better for us over the next 5-7 years. So we’re selling the truck and putting some of that money into the Corolla for repairs.
