It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted anything. Tonight’s post will be a short one.
Last weekend Jennifer’s mother went back to Florida. Fred was gracious enough to drive up, making the entire process much easier than we expected. Initially we were going to drive halfway to Montgomery. But Grandpa Padgett couldn’t stand to see Penelope for a few minutes. He wanted some quality time.
This weekend John and Virginia Wanat, my other in-laws (yes, I’ve got the whole set) came up for a visit. We went out to dinner and breakfast, went to Stone Mountain for a couple of hours, and used the slide at Lithia Springs Elementary.
Penelope has been talking more each day. Yesterday I said “come with me” as I was heading into the bedroom. She started repeating it back as best she could “ohm with ee”. “Oh man!”, “big dog”, and “I love you” (more like “wuv oo”) are repeated frequently. My favorite is mushroom, which comes out like “muhroo”. I was able to record her saying it into the iPhone yesterday and it makes we want to laugh and cry at the same time. Pure ecstasy.
Since embedding sound into a blog post is going to take longer than I’ve got, please email me directly if you’d like to hear the sound clip. It’s about 11 seconds long and may be the cutest thing you’ll hear this year.

On a whim I pulled WALL-E down off the shelf, thinking she would be scared. Not at all! She loves WALL-E. This pleases me to no end. I immediately purchased the “WALL-E” Golden Book for her. Who needs the Pokey Little Puppy now!!!
