I grew up in Pensacola, Florida and Virgina Beach, Virginia. Early exposure to music, literature, and cinema ignited a lifelong passion for creativity and wonder. I have been married to my wife and best friend Jennifer for 13 years. We have one daughter, Penelope, whom we love and cherish.
When not writing about parenthood I am a supervisor for a software company in Atlanta, Georgia. I have studied Mandarin intermittently since 2007. Necessity has also led me to many home improvement projects, including two bathroom renovations.
My favorite movies include Terry Gilliam’s “Time Bandits”, “Brazil”, and Zhang Yimou’s “To Live”. My musical tastes are varied. During the fall months Simon & Garfunkel, Josh Ritter, or Trashcan Sinatras are in heavy rotation. The summer months are dominated by The Ramones, Jellyfish, Elvis Costello, and many other fine artists. When I find time to read, it’s usually a book about leadership, parenting, or a random recommended novel.
