I don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I just decide I’m going to do something and try to make it happen.
Two Christmas’ ago we got an elliptical. I used it daily for a few months. I stopped cold to work on our hall bathroom. Once that was complete we were on our way to China. Since we’ve returned I’ve been on it once.
Language learning has been the same. I’ve started, stopped, and started my Mandarin studies more times than I care to admit. Things come up and I don’t want to expend the mental energy to study. As routines settle I start again, listening to podcasts and searching for new materials.
Decisions.

The horizon for 2013 is full of possibilities. Work holds a lot of promise and growth opportunities. Involvement in the adoption community and time with friends will enrich our days. I’ll have Moss Robert’s translation of “The Romance of the Three Kingdoms” to occupy me for the entire year (and possibly the next). We have our first birthday celebration and first Gotcha Day with Penelope.
The goals for Belonging Together are expanding, transforming from a strict blog to a site. It’s a lot of work but I love every moment of it. Ok, not every moment. I’ve had a bear of a time integrating a plugin to WordPress but I finally got it working. Details to come.
Here’s to hoping for a wonderful 2013 for everyone.

Isn’t she lovely?
