Today we had our first tour of the trip. We were the last family to arrive and unable to do anything in Beijing. Today we went to the Yellow River and saw the Chinese Mt. Rushmore, the heads of the first two emperors carved into a mountain side and what appeared to be Biblical sized incense burners lining the square leading up to the monument.

Jeremy & Jennifer Update #6 – Wednesday, May 30th (Zhengzhou)
Woke up more refreshed than the previous days but with my sinus’ driving me crazy. Can’t blame it on the pollution, though there is no shortage of that. My sinus’ were bad before we left for China.
Today was leisure day. No where to go, no paperwork to do. Lovely!
Jeremy & Jennifer Update #5 – Wednesday Morning, May 30th (Zhengzhou)
We’re in the hotel room getting ready for the day. Penelope is sleeping, fighting to stay asleep as much as she resists going to sleep.
I was unable to write last night due to exhaustion. The day started with breakfast downstairs. A steady stream back to the buffet to find items Penelope would eat while Jenn and I chipped away at our own breakfasts. Scrambled eggs and bread, watermelon, banana, and yogurt were favorites.
Jeremy & Jennifer Update #4 – Monday, May 28th (Zhengzhou) – Meeting Penelope
It would take a day to encapsulate in words what we experienced today. The only surprise is the lack of tears. I’m sure they will come in a flood later, when I fully comprehend what’s happening.
Jeremy & Jennifer Update #3 – Sunday, May 27th (Zhengzhou)
The lack of sleep from the flight was just what we needed to sleep on box springs disguised as beds. We awoke refreshed and had a great breakfast at the Jianguo Hotel in Beijing. While Jennifer was brushing her teeth our guide arrived with the vans to bring the group to the airport. I had to run to the bathroom and yell her name so we wouldn’t miss the bus.
